Fun with School Friends

School may be out for the summer but our local development center still does summer activities for the kids. Xander had a lot of fun with his classmates and teachers playing in the water, swinging, sliding, blowing bubbles and running, running, RUNNING! Did I mention how much running he did? I was so busy trying to keep up with the stroller that I wasn't able to take as many pictures as I would've liked. I'm glad he had fun!

This was Xander's first time to swing on the big kid swings and he LOVED it!

There's Elsha hanging out in the stroller in the background. Poor girl wants to run around with Xander but just isn't there yet. She was content with her drink and crackers though.

BUBBLES!

This is Xander's Preschool Teacher. We looked for Kimber, his speech therapist, but weren't able to find her. Xander even called out "Kimmer" when I told him she was there. Xander loves playing with her.

On A Roll!

No worries, I'm not going to post EVERY scrapbook page I complete. Especially since most of my pages are just cuter versions of stories already here. I'm just proud of myself for doing another page so soon! (There's that damn pride rearing it's head again - I might have to do something about that)

I tend to get obsessive about things - reading, scrapping, cake decorating, decorating my house. I go on spurts where it's all I can think about, all I want to do. (Too bad I don't obsess on laundry, huh?)

Thank heavens for Audiobooks - I can now listen to my book & scrap at the same time! (Maybe I should apply the same concept to my laundry - nah!)

You can see all of my 2009 pages under the 2009 Scrapbook link in the right column.

Scrapping Update

This weekend I updated my nifty-neato spreadsheet that I use to track all of the pages I want to do for each year. I was shocked to see how far behind I am for 2009, though I shouldn't have been. I have 45 pages so far this year and only 2 of those have been completed as of yesterday. Today I made a VERY SMALL dent and did another page.

Last year for Christmas presents I had our 2008 Scrapbook printed for all the Grandparents & Great-Grandparents. They turned out SO CUTE! Of course they weren't printed until after 2008 was done so I could include Christmas and Jaxson's Birthday. They were belated presents, arriving early in February. I planned on doing this every year. If I'm going to get my 2009 scrapbook pages done in time I'm going to have to do a new page every 3-4 days at least! YIKES!

Here's the page I did today... Is it bad I'm proud of my own work?

Up next... Jaxson and Xander playing with Elefun.

Splish Splash

I figured every kid needs a picture of themselves in a bathtub with siblings for parents to use as blackmail later on in life!

This was Xander & Elsha's first bath together. They weren't quite sure what to think about it. Elsha kept her back to Xander most the time & Xander just kept saying "Hi Elsha" and "Hi Sweet Girl" They eventually got it and started splashing and playing together.

Feel The Magic?

Jaxson got a magic kit for Christmas and finally broke it out this week. He was nice enough to share some of the props with Xander. They play so cute together! I am always impressed with how well our boys get along despite age differences, personality differences and not having the ability to spend too much time together. We are so lucky to have such wonderful sons!

"Bippity-Boppity-Poof! I made it disapear! Magic right??"

Kalli Marie Recksiek

Jordan & Allison blessed my darling little niece, Kalli Marie, today. She was so precious in her beautiful dress and white flower in her hair. I felt so bad and yet couldn't help little giggles escaping me when Xander started yelling "Dump Truck" clear as a bell and loud as can be during the actual blessing. James said you could hear it followed by my quieter "Shhh's". It was all James could do not to laugh while in the circle.

We had fried chicken with the family afterwards. It was nice seeing my grandparents again. I need to be sure to get up to Idaho and visit sometime this summer. Don't worry Grandma - James is going to have LOTS of time and we'll visit you.

I forgot my camera so I'm waiting to get pictures from my dad. He has a better camera anyways. I'll upload some pictures of that adorable little girl soon.

Hill Air Force Base Air Show

We went to the 2009 Air Show on Saturday. Xander loves pointing out planes so we thought he'd enjoy it. It was fun listening to him yell "PWANE! PWANE FALL DOWN!" all day. He loved seeing all the planes on the ground and wanted to climb in and go for a ride. Elsha enjoyed her stroller ride until we got the blanket spread out - then she wanted freedom! Jaxson spent some time with Grandma Laurie & Tom looking at some of the booths.

My poor fair complexion is a little red (okay alot red) after the day in the sun! Good thing I remembered sun screen for the kids.

My boys are so cute!

I couldn't get Elsha to look at the camera for the life of me!

James is willing to do ANYTHING to make his daughter smile. Here he is in Grandma's floppy sun hat.

Hey MOM, Look What I Found!

Elsha has discovered the hilarity of wiggly toes.

Nothing too exciting about that except her favorite way of looking at them. She puts her head on the ground, butt up in the air and stares at her toes giggling while wiggling them. Xander thinks she's silly and joins in in the butt rising & giggling extravaganza. Those kids...

This picture isn't the best but I have tried multiple times to catch a snapshot of her over the last couple days with no success - I am determined so expect to see better pictures soon!
